We’re looking for two friendly, reliable and organised Weekend Studio Assistants to join the Clay Workshop team.

We’re recruiting for Saturday and Sunday roles, you’re welcome to apply for either day or both.

If you’re friendly, reliable and enjoy working with people, we’d love to hear from you. As a Weekend Studio Assistant, you’ll help create a welcoming experience for our customers while supporting the day-to-day running of the studio.

No previous experience is required, full training will be provided.

About the Role

As a Weekend Studio Assistant, you’ll play an important role in creating a welcoming and enjoyable experience for our customers. You’ll help create a welcoming environment while keeping the studio organised and running smoothly across our weekend workshops and pottery painting sessions

Responsibilities include:

  • Greeting and welcoming customers

  • Setting up pottery painting sessions

  • Explaining how pottery painting works

  • Helping customers with questions during their visit

  • Cleaning and resetting tables between sessions

  • Assisting customers with collections

  • Taking payments and handling customer transactions

  • Supporting general studio organisation and administrative tasks

  • Assisting with end-of-day cleaning and studio reset

Typical Hours

  • Weekend shifts between 9:00am and 6:00pm

  • We’re currently recruiting for Saturday and Sunday roles, and applicants are welcome to apply for either day or both

  • Occasional weekday and evening works may also be available throughout the year (advance notice will always be given)

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Friendly, approachable and confident in a customer-facing environment

  • Reliable, punctual and organised

  • Enjoys working as part of a team

  • Comfortable working in a busy environment

  • Happy to help with cleaning and general studio tasks

  • Comfortable lifting and moving items such as 12.5kg bags of clay

  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn

Desirable (not essential):

  • Previous customer service, retail, or hospitality experience

  • Experience handling payments or tills

  • Interest in creative activities or pottery
