We require a minimum of 7 days notice if you are unable to make any workshop or clubs. You can also email direct to info@clayworkshop.co.uk in case you need to reschedule.
Please note: booking fees charged by Stripe (1.5% + 20p per transaction, sometimes higher depending on your card provider) are non-refundable. This fee will be deducted from the total amount refunded.
Pottery courses are strictly non refundable. This is due to material costs, as they are ordered for each person when booked onto a course. Please see our refund policy here.

You can collect your pottery pieces 4-6 weeks after the workshop. This is because the clay pieces need time to dry and go through two firings. See information about collecting your pottery here.
Pottery Painting takes around 2-4 weeks until its ready for collection. The wait time is due to the large amount of pieces we have going through are kiln. We thank you for your patience on this.

Due to the nature of the course and set-up, it is difficult to reschedule certain sessions. Please be aware we are a small business and pottery is a time sensitive process so in some cases rescheduling is not possible. However, If we are able to accommodate we will try our best to arrange another session.

Any age can do pottery painting!
Our workshops are designed for people aged 14+. We do also have kids & teens workshops for children aged 8+. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult for workshops.
-
Our wheel-throwing classes are suitable for ages 12 and upwards. This is mainly due to the height and strength required to use the pottery wheels safely and effectively.
Wheel throwing involves maintaining control and pressure while the wheel is spinning, which can be physically demanding and difficult for younger children. The height of the wheels and stools are also designed for adult use, making it challenging for smaller participants to sit comfortably and maintain proper posture.
For younger children, we recommend our hand-building workshops instead. They’re just as creative and a great way to explore working with clay in a more accessible, relaxed way.
-
Yes, we have a gender neutral toilet on site. This is sadly not wheelchair accessible and is up a set of small steps.
-
We suggest you maybe bring a bottle of water in case you get thirsty. Although, we will have tap water, tea and coffee available. Please do eat beforehand, as there is no food allowed in the studio due to clay dust.
-
You may get little bits of clay on your clothes. However, we provide aprons which minimises this. Clay also comes out very easily with just water!
-
We recommend coming with shorter nails. Having long nails can sometimes make it tricky to work with the clay.
