Fun, hands-on pottery sessions for ages 8 and up!

At Clay Workshop, we offer a variety of exciting and imaginative pottery workshops designed especially for children aged 8+. From slab-building and sculpting to trying the potter’s wheel, our sessions are all about getting creative, learning new skills, and having fun with clay in a friendly, relaxed studio environment.

All workshops are held at our city centre studio at 59A Roscoe Street, L1 9DW, Liverpool. Entrance is step free.

Led by experienced ceramics tutor Olivia, each session is tailored to encourage confidence, creativity, and a sense of achievement. All materials and equipment are included, and no previous experience is needed.

Parents and carers are welcome to stay and watch, or even join in the fun by booking a ticket of their own!

Throwing

Get spinning on the wheel in this fun and hands-on introduction to pottery throwing! Perfect for beginners, this 1.5-hour session gives kids the chance to try the potter’s wheel for the first time, learning how to centre the clay and shape their very own pot. Ages 12+

Snack Attack

Make your mark with this personalised pottery workshop where kids can design and decorate their own name plaque to hang proudly on their bedroom door or wall! They’ll roll out clay, stamp their name, and bring it to life with colourful patterns, textures, and paint. Ages 8+

Name Plaque

Get ready to play with clay in this fun and functional workshop where kids can create their very own snack bowl or plate – perfect for cereal, biscuits, or fruit! From funky textures to carved patterns and playful shapes, it’s all about putting their personality into a piece they can actually use at home. Ages 8+

Mug Making

Join us for a fun, hands-on pottery workshop where kids can design, build, and paint their very own mug from scratch! Whether they fancy making a monster mug with wobbly eyes and sharp teeth, a cute animal mug, or a cosy classic for hot chocolate, this session is all about imagination and getting messy with clay. Ages 8+

Tiny Treasures

In this creative clay workshop, kids can make their own trinket dish or treasure box – perfect for storing jewellery, tiny toys, secret notes, or special keepsakes. They’ll get to design the shape, add decorations like textures or mini sculptures, and then bring it to life with colourful paint. Ages 8+
