WHEEL HIRE

All materials & equipment included – scroll down to book

Looking for somewhere to practise your throwing? Our Wheel Hire sessions give experienced makers the chance to book a pottery wheel by the hour and enjoy independent practice time in our studio.

Unlike Wheel Play, Wheel Hire is completely independent. There are no demonstrations or tuition, so you'll need to be confident using a pottery wheel and centring your own clay.

Here's what to expect:

Independent Practice: Your wheel is yours for the duration of your booking. Practise throwing, work on your technique, experiment with forms or simply spend some uninterrupted time at the wheel.

No Teaching: Wheel Hire does not include demonstrations, tuition or assistance with centring. You must already have enough throwing experience to use the wheel safely and independently.

Everything Provided: Clay, pottery wheel, tools and aprons are included, so you'll have everything you need for your practice session.

Practise, Reclaim & Repeat: Nothing made during Wheel Hire is fired, kept or taken home. All clay must be returned to our reclaim buckets at the end of your session so it can be recycled and reused.

Clean Your Wheel: Unlike our beginner Play With Clay sessions, you are responsible for thoroughly cleaning your wheel, tools and surrounding workspace. Cleaning must be completed within your booked time, so please allow at least 15–20 minutes at the end of your session.

Experience Required: Wheel Hire is for experienced makers only. You must be confident centring clay, throwing independently and cleaning down a pottery wheel correctly.

Duration: Bookable by the hour
Suitable for: Experienced, independent throwers | Ages 18+

Come in, practise and spend some time at the wheel – your wheel, your pace.
