Get behind the pottery wheel and give throwing a go in our relaxed Play With Clay Wheel Play sessions. Perfect for complete beginners or anyone who simply wants to experience the wheel without committing to a full pottery workshop, these 1.5-hour sessions are all about experimenting, getting messy and having fun!
We'll start with a quick demonstration of the basics and centre your clay for you, so you can get straight to the fun part. After that, the wheel is yours to play with at your own pace!
Here's what to expect:
Have a Go on the Wheel: Experience what it's like to throw on a pottery wheel, experiment with the clay and see what shapes you can create. There's no pressure to make the perfect pot – this one's all about having a go!
Quick Demonstration: We'll show you the basics of using the wheel and centre your clay for you before you begin. Please note that Wheel Play is a self-guided experience rather than a taught throwing workshop, so ongoing tuition is not included.
Everything Provided: Clay, tools, aprons, your pottery wheel and everything you'll need for the session are included. Just turn up and get your hands dirty!
Play, Squish & Recycle: Nothing made during Wheel Play is fired, kept or taken home. At the end of your session, simply pop your clay into our reclaim buckets and we'll recycle it back into fresh clay to be played with all over again.
No Clean-Up Needed: Once you've finished, leave the wheel and tools to us! All we ask is that you place your clay into the reclaim bucket before you leave.
No Experience Needed: Never touched a pottery wheel before? Perfect! We'll get you set up and ready to play.
