Come and get creative with clay in our relaxed Play With Clay Hand-Building sessions. Perfect for complete beginners or anyone who simply wants some time to experiment, these 1.5-hour sessions are all about having fun with clay without the pressure of creating a finished piece.
We'll start with a quick demonstration of some simple hand-building techniques to get you going, with guides and inspiration available throughout the session. After that, you're free to pinch, coil, roll, sculpt, squish and create whatever you like at your own pace!
Here's what to expect:
Get Creative: Experiment with different hand-building techniques and make whatever takes your fancy. There's no pressure to make the perfect pot – this one's all about playing!
Quick Demonstration: We'll show you some simple techniques at the beginning of your session to help get you started. Please note that Play With Clay is a self-guided experience rather than a taught pottery workshop.
Everything Provided: Clay, tools, aprons and all the equipment you'll need are included. Just turn up and get your hands dirty!
Play, Squish & Recycle: Nothing made during Play With Clay is fired, kept or taken home. At the end of your session, simply pop your clay into our reclaim buckets and we'll recycle it back into fresh clay to be played with all over again.
No Clean-Up Needed: Once you've finished, leave the tools and workspace to us! All we ask is that you place your clay into the reclaim bucket before you leave.
No Experience Needed: Complete beginner? Perfect! You don't need any previous pottery experience to take part.
